Let me
Don’t take me out and buy me dinner
Don’t buy me roses from street corners
Don’t hold my hand and call me babe
Don’t gently kiss my forehead goodnight
Instead, take me on a journey through your
body between your warm thighs and gorgeous breasts
Let me take you from the back as you scream sweet
profanities in intervals of my name
Let me grab your hair as you choke me
Let me run my tongue in your ear as your
body sends shivers down mine,
Let me enter you… Slowly, deeply and intensely

as I look for the button that makes you quiver.

FUCK! You let out amidst lip biting as
Our bodies merge
Don’t kiss me gently, grab me and go for my tonsils,
I don’t need a bunch of flowers just the petal that lies
within that is nectar to my soul.
Let me be the bee that brings home the honey.
Let us take each other on a journey of territories
unscathed, in each other’s arms we rise
And when we must hold hands and kiss
May it be after a journey into the abyss

Excerpt from Queer Abstraction
My good friend Rocca was writing her thesis on Queer Abstraction and reached out, saying she wanted to collaborate with me. I loved the challenge and quickly agreed. This became my first solo anthology. The illustrations were done by Weareantisocial (Zim). The anthology features 80 pieces of poetry. Looking back at this body of work I did in 2020, I realize I was still grappling with my identity, loss, and betrayal, and the pieces featured here speak to the rawness of that.
The book is currently out of stock.
“Between the spaces of the comprehensible and the incomprehensible is the poet’s varying use of abstraction. Kins of Spade turns to abstraction to play with levels of queer visibility. Abstraction: freedom from representational qualities in art. Abstraction becomes a way for the artist to steer their sentences away from literal messaging, landing audiences in a space where they must interpret ideas for themselves, removing liabilities and danger from
the artist.”
