As a lover of theatre, I chose the title Opening Act for this short film. It is divided into three parts: Act 1 is about a prayer to a lesbian daughter, urging her to find God and forget about women. Intermission follows a girl sitting in a bar, trying to find her catch for the night. Act 2 is a mother's letter to her child, telling her to be who she wants to be. The script is an excerpt from my book Queer Abstraction. I wrote and directed this short film.
